Shootout

I was wondering if anybody knew where all this crap came from where the new board said how good you did in the shootout would determine and help towards your seeding in Nationals. Sorry but im a little pissed cause our President B. Simons said this but then I found out this was not true. Anybody car to shed any light on the issue.

From past experience, doubles wins and teams aren't tracked nationally, so I don't know why that statement was made or whom made it... but it seemed very mis-leading to teams that were hoping to get a better start at National Doubles in their respective divisions. Ranking at Nationals are often based on reputation, past performance, and luck of the draw.

Slim, you posted in the topic "Shootout". Generally Shootouts are not reported for rankings for National Events. Aces is correct, it depends on how you did from the previous tournament from the year before, reputation and luck of the draw. Since you mentioned in another posting that you are new to the tournament scene, you will have to rely on purely your skills to prove it the first time you play a National event and hopefully don't meet Jack and Rocky the first round.

One thing to add, please do not assume or put the blame on Ben Simon for information you heard or read. He has nothing to do with information that is being posted or information that you may hear from the grapevine. If you ever have any questions about National Ranked events you can contact the USRA (719-635-5396). They will be more than happy to address any questions you have about seedings and how they rank you for National Events. Our responsibility is to provide the results to the USRA and how they absorb the information is completely up to them.

Since this is the first year for RPAA, the ranking system and seedings in Arizona will be generated as each tournament is completed, which eventually build a bigger base on who should be ranked what at each state tournament.

Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

ACES, Yeah thats the one that I was taking about and I just thought it was a little "Bogus". It just seemed like a cheap way of promoting a tournament by telling people something that wasn't true. BobbyF, I guess I will agree with you and admit it isn't soley President Simons' problem of how the tournament was advertised but I do believe that someone does owe an explanation and should admit the mistake. I would be nice if the RPAA board members would just make a statment about why they were misleading because I know there are a lot of very agitated people talking about this and why it happened.
